Sunlife OB GYN services - menopause

Menopause is the permanent termination of menstruation, which can begin naturally as early as age 40 or as late as the early 60's. The process usually takes about 1 to 2 years before menopause is achieved.

For women experiencing menopause (considered to be 12 months without a period) or Perimenopause (which occurs a few years earlier than menopause as your periods becomes fewer and fewer.) it is the symptoms and physical changes that make the process so challenging. Our doctors will help you to manage the symptoms of menopause through our menopause management program. We will work with you to address issues such as hot flashes, vaginal dryness, depression, rapid or irregular heartbeat, osteoporosis and incontinence among others, through counseling on diet and exercise, hormone replacement therapy (HRT) or estrogen replacement therapy (ERT) and other pharmaceutical supplementation.

We will also counsel women experiencing menopause on lifestyle changes that can improve menopausal health and offer osteoporosis evaluation and management, risk assessment and prevention.
